I had so much better bouyancy control via the the drysuit as apposed to diving wet and using the BC.

I see you have 0 - 14 logged dives. At this stage I would bet that you have better bouyancy control on EVERY dive. Your skills will ramp up quickly. Heck you might double your experiance in only a month. Yes get a drysuit if you want one but bouyancy control comes from experiance and learning to relax and kepping you hands still and so on. all of which I assume you are getting better at with each dive.

As someone else posted US Drivers in San Diego will have the best price on DUI as they sell a lot of seconds, returns, demos and so on. You have to watch them thier inventory changes. You can call them too can get a better deal them on the web.

Also do not forget about used suits. and save some money for the under garments

You're probably right Chris. I just felt more comfortable being dry, so that may be attributed to my perception of my buoyancy control :). Especially when the water temp at depth was 46 degrees, burrrr.

I'm glad you are recommending a used suit. Any idea what my buddy would charge to glue on new ankle and wrist seals? I'll most likely have him glue on a dry hood as well, as the suit I used last weekend had one. It doesn't make much sense to dive dry and use a wet suit hood. A little slimer went a long way, also.

EDIT: Mike, that DUI suit from your link is my size; Medium. What should I be concerned with if I decide to purchase it? How can I be certain I won't have leak problems?
First things first, I'll give him a call.

 Can't say enough about e-bay sence I started a few months ago, case in point, brough a dui cf200 drysuit with dui undergarments, $600.00 dove it to a dept of 117 feet in 45 deg.water, loved it. dive dry is the way to go.

Divers2, what are those listings from in your last post..ebay?

The MSRP listings for the suits on the DUI closeout list aren't what the company is asking for them now, right? In other words how do I determine the prices of the DUI closeout list suits?

I just picked up my TLSse from John at Adirondack Scuba. I'm 5'8", 156 lb, and have a stock medium suit over medium 200 Thinsulate underwear. The fit is very good apart from a little tightness over the thighs when I take a high step. The inseam on the undersuit is long for me, and we're thinking that there might be some extra bulk in the legs because of that. I'm going to see about having the undersuit legs shortened. I'm looking forward to getting it wet next week. On the other hand, since I got the yellow overlay, I might never be able to get into a DIR-F class, even if my swimming does improve...

$924 for a new DUI TLSse with Rockboots and no undergarments

that TLSSE they are advertising is the old style that DUI does not make anymore...the new one has a warm neck collar, suspenders and is a better fit than the old one.
http://www.dui-online.com/dry_tlsse.html

it looks alot better and is available in select (talls and shorts) and Special Production sizing as well.

I dove one is Bonne Terre Mine and its a great suit and for a mid priced suit it really dives and fits well, much better than the old one.

Dive US may still have the old style in stock, i dont know.
