Dump valve leaking

Hi All,

I have a SMS 75 and the dump valve is leaking badly at times, I give it a second yank and norrmally stops leaking, pulled it apart and found the rubber seal disk is not attached to the plastic bit with the string on it for want of a more technical description. Checked another 75 about same age and the dump vale is the same. Is this normal?

That's how all mine are. Try flipping it over.
