I have just got an XL pair of Excel+ open heel. I wear them with a 5mm trilastic boot.
Haven't had the chance to swim outside of a pool yet. I am foot size US10.
The fit seems pretty good at that.
They seem extremely stiff and the top of my foot gets quite sore.
What is the difference between an XL and Medium. Is it just the foot pocket
or is the whole fin bigger.
They do seem a very powerful fin, however I thought they might have been a
bit more comfortable in use. I am probably doing something wrong, but am know
wondering about other fin types.
thanks for any advice.

Seedy,
The difference is the footpocket. Generally speaking a size US 10 foot in a 5mm boot would fit a "regular" size footpocket. Perhaps the discomfort you are feeling is due to the footpocket being to large.. This fin is a very powerful fin, and the footpocket you have was designed to be a little rigid to afford better power transfer into the blade. If you have a chance, I would suggest trying the size regular.

Best regards,
