My wife, daughter and I are just back from the island, and cannot be more happy with our trip. My daughter and I dove with BlueXTSea, and extend our thanks and admiration for Christi, Adan, Blanca, Arturo and especially to Pedro and Juan! You guys made us feel right at home, and were more helpful than we could have imagined. We had great, safe dives and cannot wait to return. We stayed at the Cozumel Palace, and all loved it. We did not get the opportunity to sample the local cuisine, but were close enough to town to be able to walk all around and do some shopping. My wife was happy enough with the town and the Palace (and the spa there, lol) that she wants us to return as well - which is what I intended, of course.

I gained a lot from this forum in preparing for our trip; Our thanks to everyone who contributes here. We cannot wait to travel to Utila in April!

I've attached a few shots - Olympus 1030SW worked great for a first time attempt at underwater photography!
:D

Sweet! Now you got me all worked up. I have to wait till April to go.

I know just how you feel; I'm already prepping our gear for Utila just one day off the plane from the Island. Vis was great and currents moderate; we saw more than we could have hoped for including a school of 40 or more squid on San Francisco wall! Palancar Horseshoe, Gardens and Caves were the most exciting sites for us, along with our night dive on Paradise reef. Enjoy!

Thanks. I will keep those sites in mind. Dived a couple of weeks ago off our pristine Jersey Coast but I am dieing for some warm water and air. First time with a camera? Great pics.

Like you, we trained in NJ and Dutch Springs. We loved it, but diving in Cozumel was heaven by comparison. The camera worked out great, after an initial fogging problem the first day we used it. We didn't bring it at all for the first several dives, and concentrated instead on our diving and just taking it all in. All the attached shots were taken on 2 days - I can't wait to use the camera more in Utila. With the current, we used hardly any energy and got the longest dives of our lives so far, safely. Fantastic!
