looking for introduction to live-aboard diving for experienced shore divers - not sure about getting sea-sick etc. we'd love to head to cocos island, galapagos etc (where liveaboard is only real option) but would like to "try" the liveaboard experience first. Does anyone know of a good short (e.g. 3-day) trip in which we could test our sea-legs? (e.g. bahamas, caribbean etc)

Thanks -
Nicky

This is a good boat and has an experienced crew. This is based in West Palm Beach and might be exactly what you are looking for

Try the Ultimate Getaway out of Ft Myers beach, southwest Florida. They do the Dry Tortugas - a marine park about 60 miles west of Key Largo. Trip runs about 3 days with potential to do 17 dives.

Also, for a bit longer trip and not as pricey as the Cocos or Galapogos is the Explorer Ventures Bahamas itinerary aboard the Caribbean Explorer 1. Currently it's $995pp for a seven day liveaboard experience diving the southeast region of the Bahamas. Fly into Georgetown (Charlotte has nicely priced direct flights) and they have a driver to pick you up from the airport to carry you to the boat. I'm getting ready to do my second trip with them March 4-11. Great outfit! And they offer incentives, like do 5 charters and get your 6th free. The dive the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, St Kitts, the Great Barrier, and rumor has it they are starting a boat for the Galapogos.
