ive flooded my f31 and the pic is now showing finger print faint lines across them and also sometimes very bright [as if really over exposed] also appears to be a slight ghostly patch in bottom right hand corner....i know its poss not worth taking it in to be fixed but can we do anything ourselves, ie buy another faulty camera and change parts. second hand working f31 are going for over £130 on ebay so cant afford another one for the housing [am buying an upgraded camera] and it is fantastic at macro, id really like to get it working again [so ive got as backup or daughter can use it rahter than my new baby lol]

appreciated any suggestions

Was it flooded in seawater or freshwater?

If in seawater I'm afraid it's history. Finding another same camera for spare parts is not as easy as it sounds. Opening up one of these cameras reveals a nightmare of parts. You really have to know what you are doing to take one apart, if even worthwhile in your case.

If flooded in freshwater let it dry out for a couple of weeks and see if it will work again. Some people recommend putting the camera in a bag of rice so that the rice can absorb the moisture. Not sure how effective that is?

I would agree with Gilligan. If it was saltwater, then you let the magic smoke out.
