I believe it was John Kendall, a UK GUE instructor, who said his criterion for taking Fundies is that someone be able to be still long enough to watch a skill being demonstrated.
But from having taken Fundies with a diver who had 8 dives and one who had 16, I do think that the class is incredibly frustrating and less than optimal if you are too new. Primer would be better for someone with 14 dives, I think. A Fundies student is expected to have enough bandwidth to do something other than manage the basic functions of diving, and depending on the diver, 14 dives may not be enough to get there.
