I have a 34" waist and if I relax my "gut" it is 40" and when diving I am sure my "gut" is relaxed and I have ZERO issues with my L/XL. I think you would be more than fine with the L/XL. There is a TON of room in the mid-section of the suit. I would say the mid-section is actually the most flexible portion of the suit..

I am 6'7" and 220 lbs. I was able to use the XXXL right off the rack. They are very flexible in size. If you are at your peak weight now, I would say this is the time to size it. From everything I have seen and heard, the Fusion is very forgiving in size, but too small will always be too small.

hmm see that seems a little concerning as you are soooo tall (almost 9inches taller than me) and the 2xl/3xl fit you. This says too me it may be way too long for me as im only 5'8.5 tall

you are a full 5inches narrower in the waist than me. Are you saying that the l/xl would likely still fit even with thicker garments for waters in the 40-50f range or did you mean I should lean towards the 2xl/3xl?

really its more about shoulder width, I'm 5'8 200ish and I had to go with the 2/3x because the XL was just to tight at the shoulders. and the new Auqa lung version in a 2/3X isa bit tighter than the older Whites version. I just switched to the Aqua Lung new aircore from a Whites Fusion Bullet. go with the 2/3X if you have wider shoulders, if not you might get away with the XL.

The L/XL would still fit, even with your undies. I am telling ya, I could be in my suit and inflate it and almost have enough room for another body in there, female of course, I ain't doubling up in a suit with a dude. This is also with me wearing my Bullet skin, the Sport skin is even MORE forgiving. If it was not a task to do, I would go take my "bag" out of my suit right now and post a pic of that thing, it is HUGE!! Like @pinshootr said it really is more about the shoulders, but unlike him I fit fine in the L/XL even with broad shoulders.

Lemme see if I can find some pics..

Sexy as hell!

I got another somewhere that shows me in the water with a bit of "gut" hang.

Ultimately, it's about fit. Go to a shop and try on on and see how it fits. Too long, too short.. only trying it on will resolve this question. All The Internet advice, will not change the fit.

I have to wear a 4xl because my shoulders are too big. Its made for 6'4 and I'm 6ft, so I just dont use up as much leg when putting them on.

Personally, I'd go with a 2xl (of which I have one for sale as well btw :) )

In absolute works case, you can put a L/XL skin on it, but I think the 2xl will be fine.
