So got a sec hand Gavin dpv.
It's got two older lead 12v 26Ah batteries in it, than im looking to replace.

What should be looking at Ah wise, and expected run times? (Twins, 1/2 stages, drysuit)
I would like up to around 2 hours run time, minimum 1.5hr i guess.

Think i will be staying with lead due to price, but i dont know.

Any pointers would be great!

Noob dpv owner :)
(have som dpv dives tho)

Check out the listings here. This is for a short Gavin so you can increase range by about 1.5x

Strongly recommend going to a smart charger. Those batteries are much happier if they are left on a float charger.
This will make your batteries last much longer. Leave them on the charger unless in use.

I’d replace them with power sonic 26ah batteries. If you can go to a physical store and weight them even better. Same weight will make re-weighting and trimming the scooter easier. If they’re too heavy, you’ll be in a pickle and have to remove weight from the scooter somehow like by drilling out bulkheads or other tricks. It’s not ideal.

Iirc the 26ah scooters should burn about 90mins or so towing a tech diver. Be trim, be neutral, be streamlined.

BatteryMinder is the best charger.

Is the gavin long tube the same size as the uv26?

You can fit 4 of these in a uv26, or 2 in a uv18

It uses the same batteries yes

Thanks!

Just got the DPV in house, and man... This thing is MASSIVE! lol.. Almost 42 kg, (weight tuned)
I tought i was around 30kg. Dang :p

I might have to consider going lithium, and a shorter body. Hmmmf..
i'm a small lightweight guys, gonna be a pain to drag around on ths thing :funny:

My brother has one,
he has 80ah lithium batteries in it, never dies.

I would recommend shortening the housing,
but its tricky because it will be easy to make it tail heavy,

I have a “standard” and a short body , the former uses double powersonic 35ah batteries and the latter uses 21ah. The long body IIRC uses double ps 42ah
