I get $1000 from college graduation to buy scuba equipment. I do most of my diving in South Florida on the Atlantic side, venture into the gulf some, and dive the bahamas, I do a lot of spearing and lobstering while I'm down there and usually do depths between 70 and 100 feet but want to start going deeper. Need the best BCD/regulator and computer (if possible) package for the best price and don't really know what to look for. Any points in the right direction would be great, thanks

BP/W (Backplate and Wing), most people will agree that if you want versatilitly between tech and rec, this is the way to go. You can find a lot of backplates used on ebay, the wing will be a preference thing if you want to buy new or used. Most brands are equal but DSS (Deep Sea Supply) and Halcyon are a good start. A good cheap depth gauge, bottom timer is a cheap ol aladin tech 2g. Both are versital and can be used for many, many years to come and into advanced level diving and be had well under 1k.
