Basically but you also may have to offer more specific directions to the underwater cache once in the water. Most underwater caches are called virtual caches. A virtual cach is simply a location of interest like this underwater cache in the Catalina Island Casino Dive Park...

This one won't allow you to log it until you answer specific questions about the cache and email the answers to the person who "own" the cache. This is a very cool cache! Notice the raitings for difficulty and terrain on this one! Basically you aren't logging this one without Scuba gear or some decent free diving skills.

I just logged that cache on Sunday :)

First trip out diving and found a geocache within 10 minutes.
 
We have used Geocatching at the resort for a long time but I never thought of putting one underwater. Great Idea. If it makes it out here I will participate!!
