After responding to a fire in which his fiance and fellow firefighter died, Matt leaves the force to go tramping about on his boat, First Light. A couple of years later, behind on the payments and running short on funds, Nck returns to his boyhood home in Dartmouth, England. While working for the local fire brigade and contemplating how to save his boat from being repossessed, he becomes entangled with members of the Russian underworld searching for a helicopter lost at sea. The helicopter contains tousands of dollars in gold bars. Buying time by sabotaging the Russians vessel. Matt and his buddy discover the wreckage and dive to salvage part of the treasure. The Russians discover that Matt has beat them to the wreckage. They are ticked. They want their gold. The result is a very perilous high stakes game.

The story moves at a very fast pace and is an easy read. If you enjoy fiction with a nautical and diving flair, I recommend this book
