Class 6 (or class 4) refers to the speed that the card can transfer data.
Class 4 is usually the minimum requirement for High Definition Video Cameras.
Class 6 is faster than class 4, but usually compatible with almost all cameras that use the class 4

I use class 6 in my mini Video cameras as my way of thinking is to use the fastest cards I can run so they are not outdated as quickly. (JVC GC-FM1 and Canon G-12)
