Just wanted to let people know that the shop will probably be closing down in traverse city. Jack passed away in the beginning of january and Shelly is unsure of keeping it open. I have been using them since i got into diving 17 years ago. Man it will be wierd having use a new shop.

I started calling around and think i found a shop to service my gear. Not sure how his prices are 25 for a first 20 for each 2nd labor. so labor alone is like 65 bucks? i found one other but he was like 80 bucks for the same work.

see thread:

Since the future of the shop is uncertain, it is not right to announce it's likely closing until that becomes factual.

i was just repeating what i was told. if you want you can call the shop and confirm that they may close. i was also told to let people know so that that they could pick up their regs as he was the only one doing any services. they are trying to figure out everyones stuff as well as everthing in the shop as jack didn't write much down. most of it was in his head.

I am close to the situation, and nothing has been decided for sure. People should pick up their consignment and repair stuff, but wait until firm decisions have been made to comment on it's future.
