Flying has become a nightmare here in St. Louis the last couple of years. First TWA, which was based here got absorbed by American Airlines, an event marked by an instant lowering of customer service standards. Then AA decided they didn't need a hub here so they emptied out the D terminal and half of the C terminal effectivly turning us into a regional airport. This not only resulted in the loss of all the AA flights but also caused the competing airlines to cut their flights as well. (None of which seemed to even slow down the billion dollar airport expansion going on.)

What does this have to do with Mexico you ask? I heard on the news this morning that Frontier Airlines is taking over some of the D gates. They'll be offering service to Denver and Los Angeles to start but the report said they plan to add Cancun in the near future!

Direct flights from STL to CUN from a discount airline! Guess I'll have to get used to the bus/ferry thing...
