Just received this email regarding the trips running in July and August. I had everything booked and paid for so looking for some advice. Is it worth doing the sea of Cortez trip and does the discount seem reasonable- I think it’s a bit cheeky.

I am considering a trip to the Sea of Cortez next July or August. Could you expand on why you wouldn't do the same trip again? Was it the quality of diving? Low viz? Water temps? Logistics?I got back from the sea of Cortez trip just over a week ago. Whilst I don’t think I would book to do the same trip again, I did have a really good time. We ended up getting 14 dives, we didn’t get to dive cabo pulmo on the itinerary but we did get to go to las animas which was a great dive site. Loads of playful sea lions, big bull sea lions which gave the divers really close passes. We saw a big school of hammerheads but the vis wasn’t conducive to good pictures.
The group before us got to snorkel with a pod of orcas which were eating a thresher shark.
We got word of a sighting but by the time we got there they were all gone.
We did however get lucking and get to snorkel with a ridiculously large number of mobulas, if i had to give my best guess I’d go for 50,000. But it’s like guessing beans in a massive jar. I will upload a few pics if anyone is interested in it at all.
That was my first trip with nautilus and I was very impressed, the crew were fantastic and the food was amazingly good. The chef poncho was incredible. Loved the boat and will definitely do a Guadaloupe and Socorro trip with nautilus.

Thanks for the tip. I’d definitely go with nautilus but wasn’t sure what time of year to go. The allure of managing to dive with a humpback has always kept me interested later in the season ( however I’m aware the odds are astronomical)Thanks for the extra info. I, too, have a list of places to dive, so I don't repeat a destination unless it's worth it. I have found one place I am repeating twice in 2023...Curacao. The Sea of Cortez is down a bit on the list, but I have some credit to use with Nautilus, I've been to Socorro twice, Guadalupe is closed, so it looks like it's the Sea of Cortez. When you get ready to plan a trip to Socorro, go on the Nautilus Belle Amie, and go in November. It's the best month for water temps (28 degrees), visibility, current, and big animals.
