Hey, I have access to cheap (ie. free) accomodations in Pattaya and Hua Hin and was wondering if there is any decent shore diving in either of those areas? A quick drive is okay too but what I'm trying to avoid is having to pay for a charter every time I want to dive.

I have been living in Thailand for the past 11 years and have not come across any place worth while to dive from the beach. If you shop around you can find shops that have cheap prices however beware you get what you pay for. Most of the best dives are out at the islands, the farther away from the mainland the better the diving is.

No diving whatsoever in Hua Hin. Nearest place is Koh Talu, 2 hours south and you cant dive this from the shore.
