As a kid I remember reading a number of his books.

Dang- that man seemed to live for ever. Maybe that means I finally have a chance with Lotte?

Legend.

Sad to hear. I have a number of his books I haven't gotten around to reading yet.

I put a link to his film Diving the Red Sea on the Vintage Scuba Supply Diving Media web page. It's in German, and in black and white, but has some very beautiful images too.

By the way, the current issue of The Journal of Diving History, from the Historical Diving Society, has a lengthy article titled The Development of the Hans Hass Rollimarin System. It provides context to the contributions of Dr. Hass.
