I am new to the board and just wanted to introduce myself. I have been lurking about a bit for the last month while I was completing my classroom and pool work in preparation for my certification dives.

I recently returned from St. Thomas where I completed my dives for certification. I am hooked ! I guess my next step is to find a local dive club so that I'm sure that I stick with it and continue to dive.

I live in Wisconsin, so viz and water temps will certainly be different than my first dives. I'm actually looking forward to this though. During my dives in St. Thomas, I think I got whiplash from trying to look at everything at once. I am imagining that here I will take a little more time to look at the interesting things that catch my eye.

I have seen so much good info on the board already, and I hope to get more as I continue to dive and come up with new questions and intrests.

Welcome to the board and an absorbing pastime, Greg! Say goodbye to all your spare time and your spare cash...diving is a demanding mistress. But it's worth it.

Greg, welcome from Canada! Irishdiver wan't kidding about the cash part .... it ain't cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Good to hear from you. Keep us posted on your local dives. It sounds like you are really hooked.

Hey Sticks...welcome to the wide (and sometimes murky) world of Wisconsin diving.

Check out http://www.divewisconsin.net for one of the dive clubs in the area. We're in central wisconsin and dive just about every week.

Also, http://www.wiscuba.com is a place to meet other wisconsin divers from the area and to find out about dives that you can go on...it's good stuff.

Good luck, and let me know if I can help you out at all. There really is a lot of great diving in this state!

Welcome to the board from an addict who also dives in cold murky water.

I'm with everyone who agrees that cold, murky water offers some of the best diving. It's all part of the adventure!

After 9 years of only tropical diving on vacation, I too am transitioning to cold water.

The cashometer on my wallet looks like the tote board on a Jerry Lewis telethon! And worth every penny.
