Late to the party but don't tell me hotels want to charge per person! It's supposed to only be liveaboards where we pay person i.e. double, for one room! That's the most discouraging part about liveaboards: when you look at the price and go, oh yeah, I have to pay 2x that. :)

Also late to the party:
For summer last year, Red Sea Agressor, two people, two weeks each, their travel arm asked a tad more than twice for the same hotel in Hurghada before and after the LOB (funny flights for unrelated reasons) as what it was directly through the hotel or travel websites. I found that odd and asked if they could adjust their price, they said they could not. So I did not book the hotel through them. I did however book the shuttle ride from the hotel in Hurghada to Port Ghalib through them, even so they charged per person (so the price for two was twice that of the price for one, which also makes no sense whatsoever - and I asked about that too - they remained firm). I did this because I did not want to get stuck with no boat if there was a delay in the ride... I wanted to be sure the boat waits... Although I probably really just wasted money because it probably says in the fine print somewhere that even if I book the ride through them they are not liable...

@Schwob, thanks for validating that the Aggressor's travel people do this sort of thing to everyone. In the end, I just paid the per-person price that they asked to avoid any hassle. It was very unlike me.
