Takin a stab, at Pseudanthias pascalus (female).
If you look at Allen/Steen/Humann/Deloach Reef Fish Tropical Pacific, the photo shows both the orange cheek stripe and the dark area on the forehead. Combining that with the Meyers book which has a juvenile, also shows the dark forehead and the tail tips colored slightly redder. Your image is definitely darker purple (especially the chin) than other images I have seen. I can see your dilemma. Hope others will have some input...
