Laguna Sea Sports is reporting 0-4-ft vis at Shaw's Cove today (Sat 2/12, 1:30 p.m.). But only 1-3-ft surf.

I'm willing to roll the dice re bacteria to try a Sunday morning dive, but is there anywhere in L.A./Orange County that would've been relatively less affected by the storm that swept through in the past 24 hours? Being that the predominant swell was short-period from the south, would someplace like Redondo be relatively shielded? Any reports from out there today?

There is a storm drain south of Veteran's Park as well as at Malaga. A few of us are going to Marineland Sunday morning (8-8:30am). The cove may have a reduce vis in the shallows due to some ground runoff, but the water should be pretty clean otherwise.

Susan had OW students this morning. They started at Paradise Cove, then moved south a few times trying to find manageable waves. The students were more eager to get in the water than Susan was, so she took them in. They managed to fight through the surf, but the water was a thick brown ooze, so nobody made it under water.

Sounds like Jon D. and I will give Marineland a try in the morning. We'll be leaving Pasadena around 7 a.m., so it sounds like we'll be there around the same time as some of you others. Probably see you in the parking lot!
