How long to get from Cruise ship terminal to Rome airport?

My wife and I are taking a cruise around Italy this fall, and have a Continental return flight that leaves from the Rome (FCO) airport @ 9:50 am (Sunday).


Carnival said they start unloading passengers (at Civitavecchia, Rome) at about 6am.


Is this enough time to get to the airport and catch our flight? (I have no idea how far the airport is from the ship terminal)

It takes about 45 minutes - 1 hour from Civitavecchia to Fiumicino Airport, by car. How do you plan to get to the airport?

Not sure about Italy,but it's a intercontinetal flight so my guess would be that ypu have to be checking in 3 hours before departure.

Carnival has some sort of transfer arranged. Not sure what it is, but they said that any flight after 9:30 would be fine.
