I have never counted the funds I have spent on diving.

I have never counted the funds I have spent on diving.
Just think of all the other hobbies you'd have spent it on...

A fair amount. I’d say approaching 100,000 cad.
I’ve taken 2 dive trips in last 3 months alone which were about 17k together
CCR up to mod 3
Suex
Full blending station with booster
I have ~17 tanks I think and some banks
All the OC training and gear

Somewhere in that range

How come the trips were so expensive? Were they some kind of expedition?

Not expeditions.
But Flights hotels air BNBs LOB I drove 11,000 km round trip for 1 of them even though fuel is dirt cheap in the states compared to here costs add up quick

This post makes my palms sweaty
Same here, I don’t even have a scooter or CCR and I probably well over 5k already if you include training.

That’s not counting trips and their associated costs.

I never really tallied it, and don't want to. It's a lot, though depending on how broadly it's interpreted.

Training: 4OW courses (2 for me, 1 each for my daughters), 4 specialties.
Direct Gear: 4 regulators, 5 BCs, 6 computers (still have 5), 4 tanks (need a couple more), 3 spearguns (lots of spears), Lots of masks, fins, wetsuits, etc.
Indirect Gear: Boat & Trucks (2) to pull that boat. (Most likely would not be a boat owner if I didn't use it to dive from.)
