I have a FT2 and trying to find out how to adjust the aperture. Anyone have any idea as the operating manual does not explain it

The manual doesn't explain it because there isn't a way to to directly control aperture or shutter speed.

The EV controls can adjust overall exposure. You can skew the F stop and shutter selection a bit by selecting the various modes. For example, the Sports Mode is most likely a wider aperture and faster shutter than the Normal Mode.

But like a lot of other point and shoot cameras, you don't have such modes as Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority and full manual.
