I have a VX1000 that experienced a minior flood a while back. The camera seems fine but the housing controls would not work so I sent the housing to Sea and Sea. Anyway the housing isn't back yet so I would like to know if there is a way to test the LANC port on the video camera to make sure that it works. Is there some accessory or something that plugs into that port I can use to test it.

There's a LANC remote control on Ebay right now for $29 - That's probably your best bet. LANC is a SONY ONLY remote control cable, so there's no TESTING equipment for it, other than the devices that were intended to be used with LANC
