Hyatt Regency cancun beach?

I've seen pictures of the Hyatt Regency Cancun with and without a huge sand beach right in front. Somewhere I read that the Hurricane washed it away few years back and it was repaired last winter (2009-2010). Can anybody confirm if or not the beach is there? Are there waves or is it calm? Also any other reviews of the hotel. Does the hotel check for any wrist bands or hotel guest verification to go up to the room?

You know about tripadviser.com correct? There are ton's of reviews, many of them recent. A quick browse had many with positive reviews of the beach. One talked about no hassles bringing in guests.

According to one tripadvisor review, there was no beach access except for nearby hotel.

"This is a new and nice hotel. Rooms are spacious. The sea facing ones are are really good. You can get a unabated view of the blue sea. However it does not have beach access. You will need to go to the nearby hotel's beach. That is the only disadvantage. Location is good. Near to all restaurants and convenience stores. So you can buy your own breakfast and dinner etc."
