THAT could explain the foul mood I have been in lately.

Been about 3 weeks for me.

I've been told if I keep doing it I'll go blind.

I'll just do it until I need glasses. After that I'll get prescription lenses.

Don't let the government find out, they'll make it illegal :p !!!!!

At last an explanation for my insanity! I guess if I have to be addicted to something it might as well be diving. :)

It's NOT addictive!

I can quit anytime I want.

In fact, I've quit hundreds of times. I call those "surface intervals.".

Nobody likes a quitter.

A brief self-test. Please answer yes or no to the following questions:

  1. Do you lose time from work due to your scuba use?
  2. Have you ever felt remorse after scuba use?
[*=left]Do you become defensive or secretive when others ask about what you do underwater?
  3. Have you gotten into financial difficulties as a result of your scuba use?
  4. Do you turn to lower companions or a disreputable environment when using scuba?
  5. Do you crave scuba at identifiable 'trigger' times?
  6. Do you want to scuba the next morning after using scuba?
  7. Do you use scuba to escape from worries or troubles?
  8. Do you ever scuba alone?
  9. Do you snap, yell or act annoyed if someone disturbs you while you are using scuba?
  10. Do you use scuba to build up your self-confidence?
  11. Have you ever been in a hospital or institution on account of scuba use?

What's really hysterical about this to me is that I have been saying for six years, as a bit of a joke, that I'm sure that nitrogen does something to serotonin levels in the brain, because it appears to act like an antidepressant for me and a number of my friends. Turns out it may not be serotonin, but it clearly does funny things to dopamine, which is just as bad. I was right, and somebody went and proved it!
