After waiting out the fog I headed to Golf Ball Reef. The ocean has been flat for several days so I expected spectacular conditions. I had ten feet of visibility, but it was still better than staying home watching political ads. I visited My Octopus Crapper, checked out the nudis, and found a Fragile Star showing off. Seastars have the ability to regenerate limbs as long as a portion of their central body remains. This little guy still had an arm and had regenerated an entirely new body.

Question: How did you get the nudi to have a reflection? Did the nudi crawl onto an object that gives off a reflection?

I found a piece of black granite countertop that fit over the top of the barrel that sits on the edge of Golf Ball Reef. I wafted the nudi off of a rock and let it fall onto my glove. I then dropped it onto the slate where it quickly spread out. I took a few quick shots, then reversed the process.

We wondered about the granite slate sitting on top of the barrel. Should have known.
