Well I wish I could say that I was the first to do it, but it seems that there was a company out of Hiroshima that beat me to it last year.
Oh well, at least I get to just spend the rest of my dives on her just relaxing and touring the wreck.
This image was taken from the website of LM Marine in Hiroshima and translated by one of my co-workers. The salvage ops in the 70's were a lot more extensive than I had believed. The shaded areas of the diagram are the parts of the ship that were removed during the 8 year salvage.
I've since been on the wreck 4 times now with another dive coming up next month when the tides are optimal.
