Independent instructor discount

Not sure if this is the best place for this but here goes....

Just wondering, if you are an instructor not working at the LDS, will the equipment manufacture still key-man items for you? Also, can you be set up as an independent rep for the manufactures? What I mean is, if you are teaching as an independent, will any of the major equipment manufactures allow you to sell their BC’s, regs, etc to your students or do you just have to send everyone to the LDS?
