Yes, the original idea was disposable pre-packed cannisters.
That's the difference between the Frog's and Micropore's cartridges.
The Frog's are filled with grannular absorbant. Expensive and wastefull
with less advantages than the ExtendAir cartridges.
So upon customer request Lambertsen started offering refillable cartridges, too.
If you follow the Frog link that I posted you can see a picture of it.

Yeah, I can understand the concept of the extendair cartridges, but granular cartridges that are disposable?! How wasteful.....my god.

Really dumb idea if you ask me. Maybe to prevent badly packed scrubbers ... :06:
The Frog's CL is after the scrubber (actually around it), so it's not a flood tolerant or drainable design.
The Micropore cartridge would be a much better solution.
