ditto big time. I would consider moving there for safety but I live out in the country. On the other hand the crazy stuff I read about in our small time newspaper is scary too.
 
Cozumel is about the safest place I know. It's all relative; no place real is absolutely safe, but Cozumel comes pretty close.
 
my biggest safety concern in Cozumel are those side walks!

My wife calls those holes in the sidewalk "tourist traps".
 
I feel safer in Coz than So Cal....:thumb:

I feel safe enough that it's our #1 option right now for retirement.
 
Since I don't rent mopeds, my biggest safety concern in Cozumel are those side walks!

Saw a woman today sitting on the side of the road headed south sobbing, and surrounded by several police, an ambulance, a gallery, and a crumpled up scooter.

Probably safe to say that there's a new addition to the don't rent mopeds contingent.
 
If I was going to live in one place after I retire Cozumel so far tops the list. It's far safer than some of the areas of Seattle are for sure.
