Is one buddy enough for the totally blind diver?

For myself, I'd take a single blind diver by myself. I just don't recommend that to everyone. Though one could make the argument that if an instructor cannot take care of themselves, they have no business with diving with someone with a disability as discussed here.

Yeah, it's an interesting point overall about the buddy system! There's a good video about this, pointing out that so much of what pros do is really solo diving. I have concerns about DSD, but if you are restricting it to excellent conditions, then there shouldn't be much difference between that and what the OP is asking...
