So, there was no activity in the SoCal group when I logged on a few minutes ago. Makes me wonder what everyone else has been doing the past 10 days (and this weekend especially).

I'm "stuck" indoors at the computer, editing video, playing solitaire, checking out Date.com and other diversions. Would imagine some of you (Jamie?) are up in the slopes where the water doesn't fall as liquid, but a white powder.

So are folks skiing? Taking in the latest flick? Twiddling their thumbs. What do divers do when diving isn't a sane possibility?

You are correct, it isn't a sane possibility.

I did a 3 day channel islands trip during the storm. Having all those divers spewing made for a lot of room on the back deck :)

I've been building an ark. :)

I'm such a chick.....I went to have a facial and a pedicure. :D

Welcome back Serenity. Your link to Milton Love's web site was worth a visit. We first worked together in the mid 70's on a Cousteau program and, of course, were loose associates while I was at UCSB for grad school and teaching.

This rain just isn't stopping. I've spent hours on E-Bay (winning an auction or two, fortunately only "essential" stuff), watched two films (well, I'm half way through "Don't Say a Word"), reviewed my "Munching & Mating" video. Another day of this and I'll go stak raving mad. Let's hope the forecast for a sunny weekend coming up is accurate!

Back to my warm bed and the movie (the living room is still "under re-construction" and reeks of oil-based paint so I'm confined to the BR).

I got back to SoCal from Tahoe on Thursday. The "Cold White semi-solid water" ie snow was soft powder when we arrived on Sunday 1-2. Any falls into the powder felt like taking a flip off a boat into the water. The only problem was that once in the snow there was no viz.

Hey there, Dr. Bill!

Hubby and I went to a movie tonight after cashing in some holiday gift certificates... (still have Sport Chalet g.certs left. My favorite toy store!)

Anyway, the movie we saw tonight was amazing! Although we intended to see The Aviator, it started late and ran even later. Instead, we saw Clint Eastwood's new flick, Million Dollar Baby. Wowza. I am NOT into boxing (hate it, actually) but I loved this film. It had everything except romance.... drama, suspense, good and evil, heart and soul, humor, sentiment, love, sadness, fulfillment (oh yeah, lots of boxing too!) ....the list goes on and on.

Go see this gem in a season of bad films. You'll be glad, but bring your tissues...maybe even you guys!

We'll be back into saltwater soon, right??

My friend Xiaoyan saw Million Dollar Baby and disliked it... glad to hear another "review" with a favorable opinion since it sounds good. For the first time in 5-6 weeks the Casino is playing a movie I want to see ("Ray"), but I'd be so soaked by the time I walked there it wouldn't be worth it. There are times I envy those who live in places where they can have cars and multiplexes!!

Back to editing video... or E-Bay... or Date.com.
