I just spent a few days at SMART Water Bungalows on Mabul. There was a HUGE storm front that passed thru while I was there that had very strong winds and rain. Concequently, the bottom really got stirred-up and the vis was very poor for 2 out of the 4 diving days. On one day, our boat faced 2-3 meter waves getting from Mabul to Sipadan and had to abandon plans to dive there and turn-around and stay at Mabul for diving.

Did get some decent pics and some 1st sitings too. SMART Water Bungalows is awesome as a dive resort. Will post full trip report in a couple days.
