Considering a trip to Mombasa, Kenya in 2009. Need to get some information from anyone that's been there.

How are the resorts? How are the Dive Ops? What time of the year produces the warmest waters and the best visibility?

How's the political climate from someone who's been there?

Any general information would be greatly appreciated.

Some good, some not so good, some great

How are the Dive Ops?

Mostly good, one or 2 excellent

What time of the year produces the warmest waters and the best visibility?

Visability can vary, but best diving october-March

How's the political climate from someone who's been there?

Things have been fairly calm for the last year and a half. No problems for tourists... except the usual petty crime that can be avoided by being just plain sensible.
