Can someone enlighten me as why I just heard about this event this morning from my wife, after she saw something about it on channel 10 in Miami this morning early.
Apparently, the story is that they were expecting 300-3000 divers for this event, and instead they had 4.

I have not heard about this event prior to this morning.
There are two whole days to the weekend, and The Wild Blue Show only occupies me for one.

Did I miss something?
No advertising?
No organization?

Likes to support local dive stuff, when he knows about it.

everyone here has been asking the same question. tepid response for the event @ best(a few seminars have only 4-6 signed up). ironic in that the dive conditions have been steller this past week and forecasted to continue thru the balance of this coming week(no precip, light winds and blue water),,,,,,,,,

This is the first I heard of it, not very good advertising

I am annoyed.

I could have participated/attended.

I am thinking it was a free posting to this forum.

I doubt that Pete would have choked them out from running a thread here.

Thinks Key Largo operators ad hotels need all the help they can get right now.

One bad thing is that it is competing with the Blue Water symposium up here this weekend.

It's really tough when events compete. For instance, I think it was a poor decision for a dive operator whose anniversary is in July to hold their anniversary party earlier, in June, when SB is having ITK. Instead of divers having two opportunities to go to the Keys and enjoy themselves, now they have to decide which event held on the same weekend. It also begs the question: why hold an anniversary event weeks earlier than the actual anniversary weekend?
