There are stories (though I've never seen video to back it up) of an octopus leaving one tank in a lab to raid another in the middle of the night and then returning to its own tank before morning.

I like the story where Otto the octopus ate all the sharks, then, having nothing else to do, would skirt into the Mercury lamps above, the salt water shorting them out and destroying them.
