I'm a Fish!
I just received my first video set up and dove it for the first time this weekend. I have an Equinox sp6 with a Sony HC-42. The system uses two UK light canon HID's with diffusers for lighting. I dive in low light conditions in the Pacific Northwest. On the monitor underwater I did not notice the backscatter, but at home on the “Big Screen”, there was so much backscatter, I'm sill dizzy from watching it. Can anyone give a Newbie some advice on cutting down on this backscatter?

A lot of it has to do with angle of the light, as you may know. I find angling downwards to some degree makes all the difference in the world.

dive in crystal clear blue water at all times! try to dive between the hours of 10:00AM and 2:00Pm for maximum sun for colour and try to stay less the 40FSW for best results. Ginnie Springs would be a good place....

sorry.... JK.... just couldn't help myself.

the concept is the same for VIDEO as it is for photo - pretty much.

i'll let somebody that knows a lot more about it than me answer...
