I don't know how many of you guys remember their first attempt at a "diving instrument", which was gold plated and cost somewhere in the region of $46,000! :shocked2::shocked2:
I was looking at their new line called "The Reef". The prices are still very very high, but at least a lot more reasonable than before.
Specs are as follows:
Technical Specifications - The Reef
Function mode: Land Mode (for setup and logbook)
Dive Mode (featuring Buhlmanns algorithm)
Free Dive mode (without dive algorithm)
Logbook (5 days of continuously logs with 1 sample/sec)
Power-save Mode
Material: Solid anodised aluminium, black polymer back case
Sapphire crystal
Display: 55mm transflective LCD colour screen 220x176 pixels;
260,000 colours automatic display light adjustment
Sensors: Internal pressure sensor to 130m
Internal 3 - axis compass with tilt compensation-sensor
Internal temperature sensor
In water sensor
Light sensor
Technology: High performance / Low-power multiple MPU platform
2.4GHz wireless sensor network
128Mbit flash memory
4 button user interface
Wireless upgradeable software and log transfer to computer
Alarm Clock
Battery: Rechargeable Lithium Ion battery with 28 hours
continuous diving
Water resistance: 300m water resistant, 1,000 feet
Weight (est): 150 grams (including 15ml internal fluid)
Accessories: Charger with USB 2.0 and 2.4GHz wireless interface
Other: GPS ready
The previous computer needed to connect to one of their watches which was another $5000 at least, but it seems this one doesn't need this connection.
You can read a little more about it here: LINDE WERDELIN • The Reef and here: OceanicTime: Linde Werdelin The Reef–Dive Instrument
Prices are from 1320 to 1800 - ouch!
