We will be in Guatemala in early August and had planned to travel by bus from Livingston to La Ceiba (via the Corinto border crossing) and then on to Utila. What can you tell us about difficulties we might encounter in crossing the border or traveling to La Ceiba, particularly considering the current political crisis?
We're a family of four with one teenaged daughter and a 22 year old daughter. The 22 year old speaks decent Spanish and has done some traveling; the rest of us are relatively inexperienced.
We were really looking forward to diving, but don't want to do anything really stupid. We haven't been able to decide what constitutes really stupid, and what's just mildly foolish.
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
