long beach!

hey all!

i wanna dive more, but i don't know what's the best option!

anybody here in a scuba club here locally in long beach? i heard of the neptunes, but can't find any detailed info.

i live 2 minutes away from 2 boats...the sundiver and the island time (sport chalet's)....

just wonderin'...

Well, I suppose you could give me a shout. I am in Lakewood. Dive most weeks, at least once and sometimes more. Really don['t know about any local clubs. Now for non-clubs you can post here and arrange a dive or hit the http://www.sandeaters.org website and then get on their e-mail list. That will allow you to send an e-mail out to the list to ask to go diving, and to receive same type of invitations. It is not a club, just a website with a calendar and a dive scheduled for every Sunday at 0800 AM.

There are several dive clubs locally. 1) The one that dives the most, is South Orange County Dive Club. They litterally dive (conditions pending) EVERY Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in Laguna Beach; every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month; every third Saturday on ODD Months~ Casino Point. Check out http://www.southcoastdivers.com for email list and link to club web site.

2) Pacific Wilderness meets at the El Torito there at PCH and Westminster/ 2nd Street. Not sure when, but call their shop either in Orange or San Pedro. Or look on their website http://www.pacificwilderness.com

3) Blue Water Divers affliated with Scuba Toys in Cypress meets in Los Alamitos. I am not familiar with this club.

4) Sea Ventures in Fullerton meets the first Thursday of the month (this coming week!) at Double D's off Euclid St and the 91 Fwy in Fullerton. They have alot of fun trips. I especially like thier camping and diving trips that they do over three day weekends. We recently went to La Bocana, Mexico and San Simeon to dive Jade Cove. http://www.seaventuresdiveclub.com

We have a couple folks joining us for dives that live in Long Beach. We're usually diving the Redondo/PV area on weekends. Wednesday is the weekly night dive at Veterans Park @ 7pm. Dives are posted on the message board @ http://divevets.com

Also, Dive N Surf sponsors free organized beach dives each month where they provide DM's, surface support, dive plans. Most of the Divevets folks are in on those dives too. The next will be Little Corona in Newport on Nov. 20th http://www.divevets.com/upcoming.htm

Hmmmm...I forgot to add one of my FAVORITE groups who also has free beach dives/ night dives at Veteran's park htttp://reefseekers.com Great group, on shore, and aboard boats. They use the Encore and the Great Escape located there in Long Beach.

Forgot to mention too, the Tueday dives with SOCDC, those are Night Dives. Great way to get night diving experience.

Damn! Back to Reality...boy, did I get a reality check this morning stuck in Traffic on my way into work (OH! I HATE that four letter word! Ugh!) Already planning my next escape...Cozumel!

Hey Dan, come and join us Thursday night for Sea Ventures Dive Club meeting. It starts at 7pm. Afterwards, we are doing a night dive in Laguna.
