How do you get the diaphragm cover off of the Mares Air Control octo/inflator? It won't just twist off. there is a "button" on the body adjacent to cover but I can't seem to push it it in to release a lock.

Harley,

I'm not familiar with your reg, so just guessing that is not a button but a anti rotation pin. Take a very thin flat blade screwdriver and pry the pin up. Then you should be able to unscrew the cover.

Alternatively, use a bright flashlight and peek through one of the cover holes just below the pin. CAREFULLY (emphasis on not poking a hole in the diaphragm) push up on the pin and extract it with your fingers.

Please post your findings.

BTW what is it that you want to do to/with your Octo/inflator?
