an air compressor is an air compressor guys. The commercial diving industry in the usa uses quincys, in other countries they use bowers. All of them are designed to do the same thing... compress air. you can use a nailgun AIR compressor hooked to a volume tank then hooked to a portable filter rack. there is a little more to it than that but this will produce LP Compressed air. As long as you do an air sample then your fine. The Oil is important, monolac is what we use. PSI Volume and Time are the important issues. If you know what your doing then you can make it work, if you dont you can kill yourself pretty easy ...buy a setup and service it.

Any compressor with the volume and reliability for the job, The correct oil for diving and most important a good charcoal filter for contaminates and a good moisture separator. Lastley have a standby air system piped into the system for any decom dive or anything over about 20 feet.
