Good news on the cylinder front. Luxfer has reversed its earlier decision and will start to product tanks again.

CDNN :: Luxfer Resumes Scuba Cylinder Production

Luxfer resumes scuba cylinder production

July 13, 2009

SANTA ANA, California — Luxfer Cylinders of Santa Ana, California announced it will resume production of scuba cylinders.

Several months ago, as part of a restructuring effort, Luxfer announced that production of scuba cylinders would be discontinued and that all non-scuba aluminum cylinders would be manufactured at its factory in Graham, North Carolina.

Citing strong demand from the diving public, Luxfer says it reconsidered and reversed its decision to exit the scuba cylinder market.

Luxfer said that XS Scuba, also of Santa Ana, California, has been appointed the exclusive distributor of Luxfer scuba cylinders in North America.

Luxfer said it will continue to manufacture scuba cylinders from its proprietary L6X® 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, which it claims "has an unsurpassed record for safety and dependability".

Great news for US!

However, hard to get in Japan now. I bought a few of the last batch a month ago :eyebrow:

Hopefully once the get the production lines going again they will be easier to get. I ordered four 40s a few months ago just to get them before they were out of stock!
