Consider the Jellyfished packed on Sunday peoples. If anyone else wants to go to Cypress, by all means come out - be prepared to bring/rent your own rides though!
OK, so, how much for rental? Does anyone have a number I can call for info? How much for tank rental? etc.? I'm not having any luck finding it on the web. I'm still waiting to hear about the bunk house, too. cewarbin said "C'mon down, we'll figure out the arrangements." OK, does someone from our bunch have it reserved? I just don't want to get there and have everything cost way more than expected.

I have a reservation for a quad-bunk lodge room. cewarbin claimed one bed, I have another.

$25 to dive per day - includes night dives.

$17.50 for a primitive campsite each night for 2 adults, $6.00 for each additional person. Campsites are pretty decently sized. The Kraken says people can crash on his for the $6, which is my plan.

Canoe/Kayak rentals are $10 every 2 hours or $50 a day. Whenever we rent, we get canoes, and split costs with multiple divers - we've fit 3 divers, w/gear, in a single canoe.

$7 for a tank rental(air - first fill free)

$5 for a fill(air)

$20 for Nitrox tank with Nitrox fill

Right on- two beds still open? There's a possibility that I might bring another diver. Funny how I never knew that friends of mine were divers until I got certified. I could use a break on the gas bill for the trip! Not sure if this will happen, neither have been diving in more than three years. Not to mention, I haven't asked anyone if they wanna go yet. One of 'em is cave certified, been diving since the 70's. I don't think the six month rule applies to someone with more than 1000 dives, does it? Not sure if he's been to Vortex before but it's likely. BTW- Bug Man, thanks for the link. I tried to bring up that site several times in the last few days. It wasn't working or I was doin' something wrong. Lemme know about the other bunk and how much per person, per night. I'll find someone to bring with me over the weekend. That cool?

Will do. I think I'm paying $64/night plus tax. There are 2 beds open. Must bring your own linens. Pillowfight starts at 9pm, or after the night dive, whichever is later. :D Pillowfight ends promptly one minute later. You are welcome to an upper bunk, as I'll take the lower. I don't know cewarbin's plans.

I should arrive late Friday afternoon, early evening. I plan on a nite dive friday.

Also, I would be interested in splitting a canoe with somebody for the trip to cypress, but I haven't any way to get it to the launch point - I'm renting an "escort or similar" if Hertz is open in New Orleans like they're supposed to be.

I can put a canoe on the Bronco of Doom if needbe, the Jellyfish stuffs away inside so the top is still free for canoe-age.

Thanks mr paulwall...We can settle up down at the hole...Night dive and pillow fight....WOW....Can I wear my jammies with foots in them??

We also get to see Darcy try on the stuff the Kraken brings down!!! Anybody bringing a Cake??? Can we get a dive cake???

I will have to take a lower bunk..Dont want me crashin down on somebody.....6'2". 260...That would really hurt!@!!

I will be there early and if you see a little blue Honda Insight hybrid with a crazy looking big dive man, that is me!!!

I am actuall coming down on Thursday so any early attendees look for me and let me know if you would like to dive or need a budd.....

Hey guys, I just saw the message over on the Florida boards. My wife and I might be interested in coming over for the day one day, but I was wondering if anyone had condensed all of the details in this thread. My ADD prevents me from reading and absorbing everything at once :D. What exactly is planned for the day(s) (besides diving). Is there anything fun to do for non-divers planned, and/or are there going to be any bubble-watchers that want to babysit my three monster kids :D :D :D

Archer,
The Voktoberfest itself will be kind of a late afternoon, early evening thing.
Participants are requested to bring 2 6 packs of some sort of German beer, if one imbibes, we certainly aren't going to force anyone to do anything they prefer or elect not to do. This beer is to be put is some sort of community ice chest, or whatever, for general sampling.
I'll be cooking up a 5 gallon pot of stew, Baby Duck is making some sort of other concoction, and who knows what else.
I imagine people will be diving in the earlier part of the day and possibly some night dives.
It's very unstructured, as you can probably tell.

Are you still looking for a dessert? My wife is pretty creative with cakes, and she was going to do either a hammerhead shark or a scuba diver for our son's 5th birthday next month. She could make something like that if it's ok. Maybe we will dive after lunch for a while and catch up with everyone after that.
