Just wondering how your trip went. I'm going to Puerto Vallarta in two weeks but concidered Manzaillo when I planed my trip. I've never been on the west coast of Main land Mexico, I think PV will be very interesting even though the diving may not be up to Cozumels standards. Hopping you'll post a report and give your view.

Hi,
My husband and I went to Manzanillo last September,
actually got stuck there during the September 11th attacks.
Not a bad place to get stuck at all!!
We were a bit worried as our children were here in the states
but this did not stop us from diving. We had nothing
better to do until we were finally able to fly back home, 7 days
later.....
About the diving! I thought it was absolutely AWESOME!!!
Because of the Volcano in Colima, there were many
swim through caverns and things like that.
The water temperature was 88 even at 90'. Visibility
was very good on most dives up to 100'.
It may not have the visibility that cozumel has but I sure
liked it better than Cozumel. The fishies were just as
abundant!! I would hold my bubbles and swim into
large schools of them, it was facinating.
Lots of lobster too!
We dove for about 8 days (two dives each) and never went to the same site twice, and there were many we have to go back
and explore......hopefully this October.
We dove with Neptunes Dive Shop and they were loads
of fun and very professional. We consider them part of
our family now!!
I would pick this spot of PV ANY DAY!!
IF anyone would like more information on Manzanillo, feel
free to give me a email as I would be happy to share
photo's and suggestions for dining, lodging, etc...........
Manzanillo does not have much of a night life (unless you are staying in the all inclusive resorts), but that is
the way I like it.... it would be very sad for this unspoiled spot
to be taken over by drunk ignorant disrepectful Americans and Canadians that I continue to meet when we go to Cozumel and Cancun. . . . . sorry but our last trip to Cozumel made me
embarrassed to be an American as they are
sooooo disrespectful to the most hospitable people in the world!

Must of been tuff being stuck on Vacation, I got caught up coming back from Cancun once by an Ice storm, unfortionatly I spent 2 days on a bench in the airport
