mares nemo downloader

Hi all
I purchased a mares NEMO some 4 months ago and Im very happy with it.
Last week I purchased the download package to get the info from my computer to my PC, although I have downloaded the software and followed the instruction I keep getting a sync error......
not being a geek does anyone know how to fix this, some one suggested i have to reset the PC to a slower sync setting, I have tried all the serial ports , removed and reinstated the software but still cant get it to download, havent adjusted the sync speed yet. thanks to all that reply.
