7 dives with Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures (6 @ Molokini backwall/outer reefs).
Got lucky and had a long ~4 minute encounter with a whaleshark. Saw the whale shark a 2nd time before the safety stop as it must have done a dive and come back around. 2nd group missed it, but saw humpbacks on the safety stop and a manta ray.

Repeated the dive on our 3rd tank and the first group saw the whaleshark during their dive.

Great crew. Also lots of whale encounters during the traveling and surface intervals.

Some of the whale footage is from a canoe whale watching trip we did with Hawaiian Paddle Sports. We paddled to Molokini and back and got lucky with a calf and mother diving under our canoe.

Good shore diving and snorkeling at Ulua Beach and Makena Landing. Mantas were active (and not bothered by people) at Ulua in the afternoon (3-5pm).

Edit: Interesting note, I never once saw another dive boat at the backwall, and never once saw another diver outside of our boat. Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures had great dive masters and crew, and always let us help decide where to dive.

All the other dive boats were in the shallow crater of Molokini. We did see snorkel charters on the backwall... which I'm not sure why...

Great video of EPIC encounters!!! If you can get some clear photo shots of the whale sharks left side just behind the gill slits, "Hawaii Uncharted Research Collective" would be stoked to see them. It would help them with their research. If its not cataloged yet, you can name it. Stoked for your rad encounters! Whale Sharks! Humpbacks! Frog Fish! Manta!!!

Thanks for the good info. We only saw the shark's right side unfortunately, so this one is going unnamed (if it didn't already have one).
